Serious heart condition yields to Truth

The greater understanding of Life and the increased joy of living which I have received through the study of Christian Science make me deeply grateful to God for the opportunity of learning something of the great truth which Christ Jesus taught and demonstrated.

In the many years that I have been learning the real meaning of the Bible as interpreted by Christian Science, I have had many proofs of God's allness and the consequent nothingness of material beliefs.

Shortly after I became interested in Christian Science I had an experience which has been very helpful. Since early childhood I had had a serious condition of the heart. One evening, after several hours of strenuous teaching, while driving my car home, I suddenly realized that I was at the point of losing consciousness. Those in the car with me were not interested in Christian Science, so there was no one to whom to turn for help.
