Compound fracture is healed in Christian Science

Before I became a member of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, I was much interested in Christian Science literature, the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and all that Science stands for. This interest was a great help to me in the following experience.

When I was washing a window, my fingers slipped from a screen I was removing, and I fell four stories, landing on the concrete pavement below. When I realized that I was falling, "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468) came to mind, and I repeated part of it. After landing, I straightened myself into a sitting position. I was able to give my name and address, also the name and address of a Christian Science practitioner who had helped me at different times, before I was taken to the hospital.

When my wife arrived, she met the practitioner she had been trying to reach. The practitioner was just leaving the hospital, having called on someone there. My wife told her that it was my desire to have Christian Science treatment, and she immediately came to see me. When she entered, it seemed as though a ray of sunshine filled every corner of the room, and all pain vanished. Her short stay was inspiring, and she told me to be obedient in studying daily.
