Tolerance replaces bad temper

For many years I have derived much benefit and encouragement from the testimonies given in our periodicals. In order, therefore, to show my gratitude for these and for many other steppingstones of progress our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has arranged for us, I offer my contribution.

My husband and I came to this country over twenty years ago shortly after we were married. We knew of Christian Science through a relative, and we each had a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. We were glad to find a small gathering of about ten Christian Scientists in this town. I shall always be sincerely grateful to these few students, who so lovingly accepted us into their midst, showed us unbounded kindness, and encouraged us to go ahead with the practice of Christian Science by gently persuading us to serve at their meetings. We can honestly say that these efforts were the cause of the planting of our feet in "the path of life" and helped to establish us in Truth.

I can gratefully bear witness to having seen in this country many proofs that this Science is that which Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, practiced on this earth, and that it is truly the Comforter or Holy Ghost which the Scriptures assure us would come. Through the regular study and practice of this Science there has come about in our thought a gradual reconstruction; and our reasoning has changed, so that we have been able to experience the healing of lack.
