Severe backache leaves; hay fever destroyed
To express my gratitude to God I give this testimony. It is about eleven years since I began to understand God through the teachings of Christian Science. The way has seemed long sometimes and the progress small, but looking back I see the ground I have gained.
A friend who was a church member saw my need and spoke of Christian Science to me, and to her I shall always be grateful. I was full of selfishness and self-pity and a desire to end my sufferings after two major operations which had left me with a severe nervous condition. I was treated by doctors, but was better for only short periods. Then I started to rely on God's goodness, and with the occasional help of a Christian Science practitioner, I gradually overcame the trouble.
A periodic ear condition which had bothered me for years and severe backache and skin rash from which I had been suffering for about six years also went as my study of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and the Christian Science literature became a part of my daily living. I must also mention the healing of hay fever; this disease vanished at the time my Christian Science friend first spoke to me of the healing truth. I did not know what had taken place at that time, but I now know that Love was at work.
