In the spring of 1914, I may say...
In the spring of 1914, I may say that I was instantaneously healed through the application of Christian Science, for, before I reached home, five miles from the practitioner's office, my voice was restored. I had also lost the sense of hearing, and I explained to the practitioner that the voice was restored, but not the hearing. I was told to remember the lines in Mrs. Eddy's poem entitled "Feed My Sheep" (Poems, p. 14),
"I will listen for Thy voice,
Lest my footsteps stray;"
For this I continue to be most grateful to God and to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her revelation of His healing truth, which made the healing possible, also to the practitioner who helped me through this experience.
