In the many years since I first...
In the many years since I first became interested in Christian Science. I have had numerous healings through reliance on its teachings. One of these was instantaneous. I was bitten by a dog, and on seeing the blood from the wound, I trembled with fear. After I had asked for help from a practitioner, all fear and pain left me. The owner of the dog bandaged my leg, and I walked several blocks to the home of a Christian Science friend. My sister, who is also a Christian Scientist, was visiting there. We read several articles in the Science periodicals, also this helpful passage from the Bible (Isa. 40:31): "They that wait upon the Lord shall... walk, and not faint." I walked four miles to my home, repeating this and rejoicing. I had no further trouble with my leg.
At one time my eyelid was cut and my face badly bruised in an automobile collision. Again the same practitioner helped me and reminded me that when the Hebrew captives were delivered from the fiery furnace there was not even the smell of fire on them. The injuries healed, leaving no scar. I was healed of fear of riding in cars by knowing that one should leave the driver, the vehicle, and the passengers under the government of God's law of divine intelligence.
I have been healed of eczema on my hands. Well-meaning friends suggested that I use salve and ointments, which I did. The rash would disappear for a time, but it always returned. After taking my stand and refusing to use material means, I was completely healed through Christian Science, and this healing has been permanent.
