Christian Science is an ever-increasing...
Christian Science is an ever-increasing joy and blessing to me. It has lifted me out of invalidism and enabled me to fill my place in my home, my church, and my community.
In the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we find the statement (p. 1), "Desire is prayer." From childhood I had had a desire to know God. I had had immediate answers to prayer, which urged me to search for other people's similar experiences. I can see now that that desire led me to Christian Science.
During a year and a half of invalidism following an operation, I searched diligently for God and healing. Finally I was able to start teaching again, but health was still something to be attained. Then came remarriage into a home where the children were Christian Scientists; in fact, they knew nothing else. Trying to work together, we chose an orthodox Sunday School and church to attend. But this did not prove satisfactory. Illness constantly stalked the children. After three years it was decided they should go back to their Sunday School and church and my daughter and I would go with them.
