Church Dedications

Daily Dispatch
Oneida, New York (First Church).
First Church of Christ, Scientist, Oneida, has dedicated its building. A history of the church shows that previous to 1892 several persons in Oneida were interested in Christian Science. In that year a Christian Science practitioner and her mother came to Oneida and settled permanently.
Public Christian Science services were started immediately in their home. This was in the former Kilts house, situated on a part of the site now occupied by the State Armory. Growing interest in these meetings resulted later in the formation of Christian Science Society, Oneida. Some years later, due to increased public interest in Christian Science and growth in membership, rooms were secured for public worship in the Devereaux block.
