Christian Scientists receiving letters of appeal for material aid from unknown persons overseas should investigate such appeals very carefully before responding to them. The practice of addressing duplicate letters to many persons whose names have been taken from the Christian Science periodicals is continuing. Often the writers, although claiming to be students of Christian Science, have no connection with local church activities.

Persons wishing to send direct aid to worthy Christian Scientists in Europe may obtain reliable names and addresses by writing the Committee on Wartime Activities at 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts. It is recommended that letters of appeal from unknown persons be ignored.
