THE SENSES OF SPIRIT ARE AT PEACE

How liberating it is to learn through Christian Science that the real senses of man are spiritual and indestructible! Because the real man is the reflection of God, Mind, his senses are those of perfect Mind. Spirit, not matter, cognizes true being. Spirit, Mind, alone sees, hears, feels, speaks.

Mary Baker Eddy says in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 28): "Matter can neither see, hear, feel, taste, nor smell; having no sensation of its own. Perception by the five personal senses is mental, and dependent on the beliefs that mortals entertain."

Mortals believe that man's senses are frail and delicate. They fear that accident may impair or destroy these senses, and that advancing years will weaken them. These fears are proved groundless as one discerns that the only senses of man are spiritual and perfect.
