For over thirty years I suffered severely from indigestion, chronic constipation, lumbago, and other physical disorders and had reached a stage where careful and exacting diet had to be resorted to. Many times these conditions were so severe that I was completely prostrated and for days and weeks was incapable of attending to my occupation, upon which I depended for my living and the support of my home and family. I was seldom out of the hands of kindly and capable medical doctors, but their ministrations were unavailing. Then I lost my position, and existence to me became unbearable. I came to that point in my extremity familiar to many who have left God out of their thoughts.

It was then I turned to Christian Science. As I sincerely and earnestly tried to the best of my understanding to put into practice what I was learning from my studies, these discordant conditions, as well as heavy smoking, gradually faded away, and in their place came a truer sense of health, harmony, and peace.

It is therefore with a grateful heart that I look back to the day I turned to Christian Science as the greatest day in my life. I should like to express my deep gratitude for our wonderful Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, whose teaching has made all this possible, for the loving members of my family and the many friends who have helped me onward, for membership in The Mother Church, for the privilege of serving in our branch church, and for class instruction. Above all I give thanks for the help Christian Science has been to me in gaining a clearer understanding of the omnipotence of God and of what God and man really are.—Charles E.
