I am grateful for the opportunity which the Christian Science periodicals offer us to testify that Christian Science does heal. When I first heard about this Science and started to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I had just been informed by physicians that I was suffering from an incurable form of heart ailment and could live for only a limited time.

From the textbook I learned that God is the only Life, and that therefore Life does not depend upon the conditions of the body. Also I realized the truth of Mrs. Eddy's wonderful statement (Science and Health, p. 495): "If sickness is true or the idea of Truth, you cannot destroy sickness, and it would be absurd to try. Then classify sickness and error as our Master did, when he spoke of the sick, 'whom Satan hath bound,' and find a sovereign antidote for error in the life-giving power of Truth acting on human belief, a power which opens the prison doors to such as are bound, and sets the captive free physically and morally."

Deciding that from that time on I was going to rely completely and solely on Christian Science, I called upon a practitioner for help. The healing took some time, but I am thankful for the opportunity it gave me to study Science; the visible proofs of God's loving-kindness were so many I never was tempted even for an instant to swerve. At times it seemed advisable to change practitioners, and I greatly appreciate all the help and inspiration I received. I was restored to complete health, and the healing has been permanent.
