CHRISTIAN SCIENCE—THE ANSWER TO EVERY PROBLEM

The Christian Scientist realizes how fortunate he is to have a religion which presents a sure and certain way to solve every human problem. Those who have a blind faith in God soon learn upon turning to Christian Science that its teachings are not based upon mere belief or faith, but that this Science is the exact knowledge of God and man, based on the fact that divine Mind is the only Mind, and that man, created in His image and likeness, reflects the infinite power and presence of God. Problems do not exist in Mind, and human experience becomes more harmonious as our consciousness of this fact grows.

Mathematics has fixed rules; and when one learns these rules and applies them properly, he can correctly solve any problem, whether it be simple addition or calculus. Likewise Christian Science has fundamental rules which, understandingly applied, enable one to demonstrate harmony in his life. These rules are set forth in the Bible and in the divinely inspired writings of Mary Baker Eddy. Centuries ago Paul included in his counsel to Timothy the statement (II Tim. 3:16, 17), "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

In our time Mrs. Eddy states in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 462), "Some individuals assimilate truth more readily than others, but any student, who adheres to the divine rules of Christian Science and imbibes the spirit of Christ, can demonstrate Christian Science, cast out error, heal the sick, and add continually to his store of spiritual understanding, potency, enlightenment, and success." She continues: "Whoever would demonstrate the healing of Christian Science must abide strictly by its rules, heed every statement, and advance from the rudiments laid down. There is nothing difficult nor toilsome in this task, when the way is pointed out; but self-denial, sincerity, Christianity, and persistence alone win the prize, as they usually do in every department of life."
