EXTRACTS FROM REPORTS

of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Texas

Twice during the year this Committee was called upon to investigate relief problems in Texas. The tornado which struck Glazier and Higgins, Texas, did untold damage. A visit was made to this area and funds which Christian Scientists had given for the stricken people were applied to their relief.

When the explosion at Texas City occurred, immediately the Committee flew to the scene and set up a relief organization through the Christian Science Society there. The Christian Science Board of Directors sent a substantial check from The Mother Church Relief Fund, and churches and societies from many sections of the state sent in generous supplies of fine clothing, food, and money. These contributions enabled the Christian Scientists to render aid to an estimated number of five hundred families. Many wonderful healings were reported.
