How many times during the past I have been helped by testimonies published in our periodicals! In the hope that they will help others to trust in and rely on Christian Science, I relate some of the healings I have received through the application of this great Science.

Christian Science came to me through my witnessing the healing of a friend at a moment when, for the first time in my life, I did not know how to keep alive. Because I was a Jewess I was forced to give up contact with relatives and friends, to abandon my career as a music teacher, to hand over to the authorities most of my possessions, to divorce my husband and—in the end —to leave my child and my home and go to England as a refugee.

During this hard experience the twenty-third Psalm gave me all the support I needed. In one particular case the illuminating interpretation of this Psalm by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 578), was of great help. Everybody wanting to leave the country had to apply for different permits, and at that time many unfortunate people were refused them. With the loving support of a Christian Science practitioner I realized that the promise (ibid.), "[Love] prepareth a table before me in the presence of mine enemies," was ever available, and as a result of this realization I got the necessary papers. The official handing over my passport even said, with a friendly smile, "A happy future to you."
