AND MANY BELIEVED
It
must have made Peter's heart sing
When, after he'd called Dorcas
Back from the shadow of death,
The people of Joppa seeing, believing,
Gave all the praise unto God.
That is what Peter wanted;
He wanted the people to give
God the glory.
And Dorcas, would she be contented
To make more coats and do almsdeeds?
Would these bring her days to fulfillment
After her vision of eternal Life?
Perhaps she would lay down her needle
And would in thought clothe men
With garments of Love;
No longer would see them as poor
And as needy, but in Spirit's protection
Warmed, clothed, and led.
Like Peter she too could show them
God's power.
