The study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, during the past ten years has brought untold blessings into our home, and it is with much gratitude to God that I submit my testimony.

Soon after I commenced the study, a small son was taken suddenly ill. He was unable to move a limb and was in great pain. At that time I did not know that there was a list of practitioners to be found in The Christian Science Journal, but I did know of a practitioner who lived near by. I telephoned, but found she was away for a few days. My knowledge of Christian Science being small and my fear great, I sent for a doctor, who diagnosed the trouble as a severe case of rheumatic fever. Several days passed with no improvement and, owing to the intense pain, little rest for either the lad, his father, or me.

On a Wednesday morning, after a disquieting report from the doctor, I again telephoned to the practitioner and found she had returned. On telling her the situation, I received the calm assurance that the human verdict was not true, and I was told to turn away from such falsity. Later she called, and after talking quietly to us she explained that if we lifted our thinking to behold the child of God's creating, our son could get up free and joyous. I was then invited to go with her to a testimony meeting. I had an inward struggle at the thought of leaving my husband to cope with the condition alone, but when I voiced this, the practitioner pointed out to me that the boy's Father-Mother God was ever present and able to meet every need.
