EXTRACTS FROM REPORTS of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Correcting Erroneous Statements

New York

The editor and compiler of an encyclopedia of religions was most gracious and co-operative upon being informed that the portion of his encyclopedia purporting to give an explanation of Christian Science was woefully lacking in comprehension of the subject. He expressed keen regret over this incident and said that he would keep it in mind for a further printing of the book. Several months later he extended an invitation to this Committee to prepare an officially approved manuscript of some fifteen hundred words concerning Christian Science and its practical applicability to current life and problems, for inclusion in a book on the general subject of religion in the modern world, soon to be published here.

Another encyclopedia at our request changed its bibliography for the chapter on Mary Baker Eddy, which had included inaccurate and obviously prejudiced reference books, to a list of altogether authentic books.
