The Christian Science Board of Directors on May 19 announced the election of Mrs. Helen Wood Bauman, C.S.B., of St. Joseph, Missouri, as an Associate Editor of The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, and The Herald of Christian Science in its several editions, to succeed Miss L. Ivimy Gwalter, who was elected to membership on The Christian Science Board of Directors on May 11. Mrs. Bauman received her academic education in the schools of St. Joseph. She subsequently pursued the study of music for many years in the United States and abroad.

Mrs. Bauman became interested in Christian Science in 1918 and united in membership with The Mother Church and with First Church of Christ, Scientist, St. Joseph, in 1920. She has served as organist in that branch church and also in Second Church, Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs. Bauman has also served in many other capacities in the branch church of which she is a member, including that of Second Reader, member of the board of directors, and teacher in the Sunday School.

Mrs. Bauman became active in the practice of Christian Science in 1932 and was listed in the Journal as a practitioner in August of that year. In 1946 she received instruction in the Normal class of the Board of Education, thereupon becoming an authorized teacher of Christian Science. Mrs. Bauman will change her field of labor as a teacher of Christian Science to Boston and hereafter teach her classes and conduct the meetings of the Association of her pupils in this city.
