I should like to express my gratitude...

I should like to express my gratitude for Mary Baker Eddy and for her wonderful discovery of the Christ Science. Although I had always attended church and loved the Bible, I was never really satisfied until I became interested in Christian Science.

I saw the healing through this Science of one who had worn glasses for a long time and who had been told that if she did any sewing or reading she would soon lose her entire sight. Shortly after this I attended for the first time a Sunday morning service in a Christian Science church. The first thing I noticed was an inscription on the wall on one side of the desk, taken from the Bible. It read (I John 4:16), "God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him." I turned to the opposite wall and read, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need," from page 494 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Before the service I turned to these passages many times, and the word "God" had a new meaning to me. It was divine Love filling my consciousness, and I knew that I had found a great truth which I could hold to and believe in.

Since that time I have had many proofs of healing. I was instantly healed of the smoking habit and of social drinking. At one time, while at my work, I became suddenly ill with nausea and great pain. When I seemed to be losing consciousness, the only thing I could think clearly was, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need," and as always Love did meet my need. I was able to drive sixty miles to my home, where I had a comfortable sleep and in response to Christian Science treatment was soon well. Much kindness was expressed to me at this time.
