EXTRACTS FROM REPORTS of Christian Science Committees on Publication
The Press
New South Wales, Australia
There have been no direct attacks on Christian Science in the secular press. Several references to it gave the opportunity to present the Christian Science viewpoint correctly. A leading daily published an article by George Bernard Shaw, in which he strongly discounted a doctor's monopolization by materia medica in the history of healing and quoted Christian Science as an instance of successful nonmedical healing; but in doing so he left it open to the reader to believe that Mrs. Eddy spoke harshly about medical men. The editor of the newspaper readily published a corrective letter.
