I am indeed grateful to our loving Father-Mother, God, for Christ Jesus and for our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

I am so grateful for Christian Science that I wish to share with others my experience. I was suffering from what is termed a nervous breakdown and had been so ill that the attending physician insisted I should not be allowed to lift anything heavier than a glass of water. Some time before this we had lost our three-year-old son in an accident, and I had brooded over this so much that I had become depressed and irritable and wished that I might pass on too. This attitude of thought made my husband as well as me very miserable.

One day my husband was discussing my condition with a friend, who asked him if he thought I would be interested in Christian Science. After talking with this friend's wife, who had been healed of a condition much worse than mine through Christian Science, he was convinced of its healing efficacy and brought me a copy of The Christian Science Journal. At first I resented this, for I was an active member of an orthodox church and wondered how this book could help me if the Bible could not. My husband looked so disappointed that I decided it was my duty at least to read it. So I began to read and became so interested that I continued.
