A HUNDRED LIES
[Of Special Interest to Children]
"Mother ! Mother!" It was eight-year-old Dick calling as he hurried through the gate. Almost before the latch had clicked shut, he was inside the house, still calling for his mother.
When all is well, Dick says, "Mom" or "Moms." When he calls "Mother," it is like a cry for help. So his mother left her ironing and went to meet him.
"Mother!" Dick shouted again when he saw her, but he was so excited that although he made sounds he could not say another word. His face was very red, and there was something on it besides the many brown freckles.
