LETTERS TO THE PRESS from Christian Science Committees on Publication

In reply to the letter by a contributor appearing in a recent issue of your paper, in which he states, "Christian Science, so called, is neither Christianity nor science," I should like to ask, Is not this just a matter of viewpoint? Of course the teaching of Christian Science differs from that of Methodism. So does the Church of England, the Baptist, and other denominations, but they are all Christian churches, and a Christian Scientist would be the last to dispute this fact.

Christian Scientists are students of the King James Bible, and there may be no reason why they should not be represented in the World Council of Churches, but it is obvious that a practitioner of Christian Science, who has outgrown the use of medicine and drugs as a system of healing, could not be represented in the British Medical Association. But surely if "science" means exact, definite, correct knowledge, then there must be that exact knowledge about God and Christ, and that is Christian Science.
