The Bible assures us that "all...

The Bible assures us that "all things work together for good to them that love God" (Rom. 8:28), and the last ten years of my life, especially, bear witness to this fact.

A year before the last World War my husband was ill, and so we built a bungalow near his work. But he did not get better, and we moved to a farm. All went well until the war came; then the milk went farther and farther down in the churns, and the expenditure rose alarmingly. About halfway through the war, we decided to sell out. Reading through a Sentinel, I realized that there is no cessation to God's business, and that if one's business serves the people, it is God's business. I retired, singing the hymn (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 134), "I look to Thee in every need," and the next morning unexpected supply came in. Again we decided to carry on.

About this time a plot to dispossess us of the farm was revealed. I said (Ps. 121:3), "He will not suffer thy foot to be moved," and I added that we should leave when God, not error, moved us. The plot fell through, with a rebuke to the covetous neighbor. Friends expressed wasted sympathy when the last year of the war saw the whole of the farm converted into a building site, for, working with the engineers. we had more supply than at any time during the war.
