REFLECTION, NOT COMPETITION
Even a momentary glimpse of God as the Father of all, and as the impartial, ever-present, and uninterrupted provider of good for all His creation, lightens daily tasks. One of the rewards of sustained recognition of this office of God is a fuller awareness that man, as God's beloved son, does not have to compete for income or happiness. Honest competition in business is wholesome. But unscrupulous competition, characterized by selfishness and dishonesty, is harmful. Christian Science is daily unloosing the mental shackles of this false concept by teaching men the truth about God, and man as His unfettered spiritual image and reflection.
This Science reveals the universe to be spiritual, and acknowledges God as the divine Principle governing all and providing impartially for His creation. Spiritual—man the only real man there is—is one with his creator, expressing in flawless reflection all that God is. In this spiritual relationship there is no possibility of competition.
Today, when struggles for power seem so widespread, such a view may at first appear far removed from reality. But the understanding of life as spiritually mental was proved both true and demonstrable by Christ Jesus. And Christian Scientists are today demonstrating this as the truth of being under many different circumstances.
