This testimony is written to encourage those who may be struggling with a sense of loneliness, difficulty, and indecision because of being the first or only one in a family to study Christian Science.

I was the youngest of my family, and when I was seventeen years of age the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, was brought into our home during the illness of one of the family. An effort was made to understand the Science contained therein, but all we could grasp at the time was the joy of those whose lives had been regenerated and whose experiences are to be found in the chapter entitled "Fruitage."

Some years later, after I was married, I underwent a deep sense of physical, mental, and financial depression. A doctor had predicted a most alarming and hopeless outcome. The Christian Science textbook was again looked into. By degrees I learned that there are Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, lectures, Reading Rooms, and practitioners to assist one. Within a year health was regained, the joy which "no man taketh from you" (John 16:22) was mine, and there were beautiful demonstrations resulting in supply. These were outstandingly happy days for me, such as I had never before known, and Christian Science had brought them to me.
