HARMONY MEANS UNITY

If you were asked to express in one word what the world most needs, what all men most want, though they may not so define it, it might well be harmony. Harmony is greatly needed in the home, office, shop, in business, government, schoolroom, and even in our churches. In human relations it means peace. For the human body it means health.

Harmony is a beautiful word in all its meanings. Derived from the Greek harmos, meaning "a fitting or joining," the word "harmony" implies co-operative action, or the concord of members related to each other. Harmony cannot exist alone. It precludes selfishness, self-centeredness, and self-will. It signifies sharing, consideration for and action with others in the expression of good. Harmony means the unity of several elements. It denotes law, order, completeness, satisfaction.

Christian Science, the Science of Life, Truth, and Love, is the law of God, Spirit, which produces true, spiritual harmony. It shows that the real man is the perfect idea or image, the harmonious expression of divine Mind. The infinity of spiritual individualities, or conscious beings, reflecting the one Mind, manifests the harmony of their unity and completeness.
