No man, class, race, or nation will ever he secure except in a moral world—a world that is free from fear, hate, and greed, and hence from all the human misdeeds motivated by these passions.

We spend, therefore, far too much time debating whether world security can best be achieved through organizations, alliances, armaments, treaties, or commissions. ... We may need to arm for self-protection. But let us realize that this is only a stopgap till we work out the real solution, and then get immediately to work upon that real solution.
