I am very grateful to God for...
I am very grateful to God for Christian Science. I first became interested in it in 1927, when my mother was healed of a severe case of eczema, which covered her hands and arms. She had been to many doctors, but without receiving healing. A friend who had just begun to study Science recommended that she go to a Christian Science practitioner. My mother did this, and after a short period of treatment the eczema completely disappeared.
My sister and I began to study immediately, and since then we have found that Christian Science meets our every need. In Isaiah (49:8) we read, "Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages." Truly, God always hears us and helps us, as I have proved through the years. My three boys have always had Christian Science and have proved that the understanding of God and man gained from our textbook not only heals but preserves men from discordant experiences. The Christian Scientist demonstrates the facts of being in his daily life, as he understands them, and in so doing draws others to this source, from which they can always find healing for their problems.
When one of our boys was about seven years old, he awakened during the night with an earache. The pain kept him from sleeping any more, and without telling me he tried to work for himself. The next day was Sunday and he went to Sunday School, but on returning home he asked for help from a practitioner and went to bed without dinner. I let him talk to the practitioner himself, and shortly afterwards he fell asleep. When he awoke he was very much better but asked to call the practitioner again. I overheard him saw "Don't stop working yet." The next morning his pillow bore evidence of a discharge. He was completely well and attended school that day.
