When a young girl, I required the attention of many physicians, for I was always weak, nervous, constipated, and was never without a cold. At times it seemed that I could no longer endure my condition. After I married and our son was born, my ill-health caused me even more depression, because I worried about the effect it might have on the happiness of my husband and child.

One Wednesday night a relative invited me to attend a Christian Science meeting with her. I consented, although I doubted that I could sit down for so long a time. I was greatly impressed with the dignity of the congregation as a whole, and when the testimonies were given I felt that I too could be helped. Mrs. Eddy's poem "Mother's Evening Prayer" (Poems, p. 4) was the first hymn sung at this meeting, and it has always been outstanding to me as a healing message. The next Wednesday my husband attended the church with me. After the service he remarked, "I think we have paid our last doctor's bill," and so we had. In a short time everything began to look brighter, and with the help of a practitioner we began to experience healings. My gratitude knows no bounds.

Our baby boy was healed of black measles in three days. Another healing was of abscesses in my ears, a condition which with the help of a practitioner we conquered entirely. Twenty-two years ago I was healed of facial paralysis, with no aftereffects.
