Until Science came into my life...

Until Science came into my life I never knew what true health meant. I was very ill and longed to know more about God. Like all right desires, which I now know are true prayer, this longing to know God was answered, for I heard of the power of Christian Science to heal disease. I began to think about what I had heard of its teachings, namely, that in reality I am God's perfect child and that God is no respecter of persons. Although as yet I had not studied Science, nor attended a church service, the true thoughts which I entertained about myself were sufficient to heal me, and to my great surprise I found myself well.

I then began in earnest to learn more about this Science of healing, and bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I also began to attend the church services. As a result of the understanding of God and man which I was gaining, many physical difficulties were healed, and I have since witnessed many wonderful healings. My mother was healed of a seizure, my father of heart disease, and a loved one who was apparently passing on was restored to life and health through my new-found understanding of God.

Some years after my father's healing of heart trouble, this condition appeared in my experience. Much fear was manifested, and I had to know that man is not material, but is made in the image and likeness of God. I had not been born into matter; therefore heart did not control my life. God is my Life. God being my Father-Mother, there was no channel for the belief of hereditary heart disease. On page 351 of Science and Health our beloved Leader says, "It was the living, palpitating presence of Christ, Truth, which healed the sick." I saw clearly that there is nothing to palpitate but Love and Truth, because there is no matter. This clear realization completely liberated me from this false so-called law.
