Of Good Report

"In so many different parts of the world"

A Christian Science lecture printed in The Christian Science Monitor brought a grateful comment in English from a native of Iraq. He receives the literature regularly, and several of his countrymen who speak English and have also become interested in Science have asked that it be sent to them. Additional copies of the Bible and of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and her biographies have also been requested. Plans are now being made to meet regularly on Sundays to read the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly.

The warm response the teachings of Christian Science have found in the heart of this Arabian student is indicated by these words from one of his letters: "It is very wonderful to know how Christian Science is making its appeal in so many different parts of the world. It is the most wonderful teaching the world has ever known, the teaching of Christ Jesus discovered and brought to light and reduced to human apprehension by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, to whom we owe a debt we can never repay."

Christian Science Organization of Boston University, which was founded in the 1930's in accordance with Article XXIII, Section 8, of the Manual of The Mother Church, experienced a sharp decline in its membership during the war years. The pressure of accelerated programs, engendering lack of interest among a student body already depleted by enlistments in the armed services, resulted in an organization which was kept running mainly through the efforts of its interested local alumni and friends.
