Improving Thought Models

One of the demands made by Christian Science on those who would be its earnest students is that of improved thinking. As a result of progress in the study of this divine Science old habits of thought, based on fear and limitation, drop away in the light of unfolding understanding of uplifting, regenerating, healing Truth.

It is from the basis of a new and higher concept of God as creative Mind that we begin to comprehend the glorious facts of His spiritual creation, and to recognize man in His image. Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, instructs us in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 248), "We must form perfect models in thought and look at them continually, or we shall never carve them out in grand and noble lives."

What is the perfect model? Surely it is God, Spirit, the perfect One, and His expression, spiritual creation, including spiritual man. Our thought models will improve, then, as we turn from matter to Spirit and bring into our daily experience more of the perfection which is of God, the reality which reflects Truth, the loveliness and grace which manifest Soul, the uprightness and integrity which stem from Principle.
