About twenty-five years ago,...
About twenty-five years ago, while walking along the street. I suddenly became so deaf that I could not hear a sound as the traffic went past. I walked straight to my doctor. After he had examined my ears he said he could find nothing wrong with them, and if the deafness did not right itself I must visit a specialist.
I had just been introduced to Christian Science by my husband, who was serving in the British Navy in the Baltic. He had been healed of synovitis. I thought if God could heal that He could also heal deafness, so I decided to trust Science. I spent all my spare time studying "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
Some months later my first baby was born and I felt it was now imperative for me to get my healing to enable me to be an efficient mother, so I asked a practitioner for help. After a fortnight's absent treatment, one morning I suddenly heard a clock strike the hour. I felt that I was standing on holy ground—my heart filled with joy and gratitude, and I knew I was healed. I have had splendid hearing ever since.
