Excerpts from Letters Concerning Christian Science Wartime Activities
[From a volunteer Christian Science Wartime Worker]
A young man, not a Christian Scientist, with cancer of the leg bone, was given one year to live if he had an operation, or six months if he did not. A Christian Scientist, who was visiting another patient in the same hospital, assured him that he could get well and spoke such words of cheer and comfort that the interest of this young man in the cause of her faith was aroused. The volunteer Christian Science Wartime Worker visited him, and, in the ensuing twelve months, treatment in Christian Science was given him, which, with his own earnest study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, has resulted in his discharge from the hospital. The condition cleared up, leaving no infected tissue. He is now driving his own car.
