Since I took up the study of...
Since I took up the study of Christian Science my life has been so filled with blessings that I can never express in words alone my gratitude to God for the truth revealed to us by our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. It was the incontestable logic of Christian Science that first held my interest. I did not expect healings in those early, eager years, yet loneliness, depression, sarcasm, headaches, and an unhealthy condition of the finger nails disappeared.
Our two sons have had many healings and protection from accident. We did not always escape the touch of children's diseases, but release from their effects came promptly upon application of the truth, and we then had seasons of rejoicing because we had proved our religion practical and true.
When one boy was about four years old he became deaf, and, though I worked faithfully in Christian Science, there was no improvement. One evening my husband said that I must take the child to a doctor the next day. Then I asked the lad's Sunday school teacher for treatment. Her work lessened my husband's fear overnight, for in the morning he said he was willing to wait a few more days before consulting a doctor. The practitioner asked me to study the chapter on Genesis in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and when I read on page 518 that "the divine Principle, or Spirit, comprehends and expresses all, and all must therefore be as perfect as the divine Principle is perfect," I knew my son was healed, and he was. Colds, fevers, tonsillitis, broken bones, and many other ills have been overcome some instantaneously.
