Many other systems of religion and healing were studied by me before I learned of Christian Science. I was seeking the truth, and this system has proved to be the answer to all my seeking.

Soon after I began to study, stomach trouble developed. I have since found out it was chemicalization. There was a great deal of fear and anxious thought, but this was somewhat overcome as I progressed in understanding. Help was asked for, and given by practitioners, and many times I was completely free; at other times I was seized with painful gastritis. I knew it was a false belief, but proving it took much time.

Then one day, while studying, I came across these words in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (pp. 393, 394): "A false belief is both the tempter and the tempted, the sin and the sinner, the disease and its cause. It is well to be calm in sickness; to be hopeful is still better: but to understand that sickness is not real and that Truth can destroy its seeming reality, is best of all, for this understanding is the universal and perfect remedy." My thought was illumined and I realized that a false belief is no part of man, who is the image and likeness of God, always perfect and complete. A great weight was lifted, and I was instantaneously healed of the stomach trouble.
