Overland, Missouri (First Church).
First Church of Christ, Scientist, Overland, was dedicated on Sunday, December 31, 1944. Morning, afternoon, and evening services were held.
Half an hour before each of the three services, the chimes from the organ were amplified from the church steeple.
At each service a brief history of the progress of Christian Science in this field was read by the First Reader. Christian Science services were first held in Overland in 1935, at 9418 Lackland Road.
The first services in the new church, which is located at Lackland Avenue and Midland Boulevard, were held in November, 1942.—Record-News.
