I wish to express my greatest...

I wish to express my greatest gratitude to God and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for Christian Science.

During a severe and prolonged air raid these words from Isaiah (54:17), "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper," and from Science and Health (p. 471), "God is infinite, therefore ever present, and there is no other power nor presence," persisted in my consciousness. To my great joy I suddenly realized that instead of hurrying to the basement of the house I could stay safely in my room, despite guns and falling bombs, for "God is everywhere, and nothing apart from Him is present or has power" (ibid., p. 473). I was able to reverse the false belief of danger as we are taught to do in Christian Science, and to hear only the voice of God, instead of the shattering noise of guns.

I have learned during these difficult times that protection is spiritual, and this knowledge will never leave me now, for calmness and gratitude have taken the place of panic and fear.—(Mrs.) Louise Kate Cannon, London, England.
