Undisturbed

When we are glad within, though sense would say
Our world is bleak and all our skies are gray,
We surely then have touched the fringe of heaven,
And tasted joys that Spirit, Soul, has given.
When we are calm within, though the wild shrieks
And the fierce roars of battle greet the ear,
We surely then have heard the truth which speaks
Its "Peace, be still," that quells the storms of fear.
Such joy and calm within may well inspire
Mankind to walk unharmed through storm and fire.
