Sturgis, Michigan (First Church).

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Sturgis, was dedicated on Sunday. December 3, 1944. Services were held in the morning and also in the afternoon.

The first Christian Science meetings were held in a private home. Later a room was rented in the Masonic Block. Christian Science Society was organized in December, 1913. In July, 1926, the society became First Church of Christ, Scientist, Sturgis.

In October, 1924, the church property, which is located at 211 North Nottawa Street, was purchased. The building standing on the lot was remodeled into the present church edifice, and the first church services were held in the edifice on May 10, 1931.
