Christian Science Chaplains

Opportunity remains for Christian Scientists to enter the United States Army for service in the Chaplain Corps. The qualifications for such appointment are fixed and strictly adhered to, and are as follows: Age—24 to 50. Education—A. B. or B.S. degree from an accredited college or university. Religious requirement—Ecclesiastical indorsement of The Mother Church based upon requirement mutually agreed upon by the Chief of Chaplains and The Christian Science Board of Directors, which includes a certified statement by the applicant attesting that the healing practice of Christian Science and other church activities constitute the applicant's "first interest" and that fifty per cent or more of his time for the past three years has been devoted to this work. One engaged in other professional or commercial pursuit is not considered eligible. In this connection the applicant's Selective Service classification is a factor. Christian Scientists who are able to meet these requirements and wish to apply may write Manager of Committees on Publication, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.
