"The only feasible evidence"
Some time ago, one who had lived in Mrs. Eddy's home said that the Christian Science organization would be but a small and insignificant sect, were it not for the healings which take place through the students' spiritual understanding of Christian Science.
The neophyte may ask why physical healing is so much stressed throughout Mrs. Eddy's writings. Our Leader has answered this question in her textbook in a most satisfying way, not once but many times. On page 345 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" we find these words: "One who understands Christian Science can heal the sick on the divine Principle of Christian Science, and this practical proof is the only feasible evidence that one does understand this Science." This "practical proof," therefore, is not only essential to the one who reaps the rich benefit of healing and a broader, fuller sense of health, but it is also of immense importance to the healer or practitioner, for this "feasible evidence" records his position as a Christian Scientist as nothing else can record it.
Because this proof is forthcoming today, humanity is beginning to awaken, here a little and there a little, to see that the power which Jesus used with such magnitude more than nineteen centuries ago, is a perpetual, permanent power, the power of God, ever available for all to understand and to put into practice. Mrs. Eddy has had emblazoned in gold on all her works these words: "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons."
