About ten years ago I found myself suddenly bereft of home and income, and with two young sons to support and educate. As a young girl I had had very fine teaching in the Christian Science Sunday School, but later on I became so busy with the material way of life that I neglected the daily study of the Lesson-Sermons found in the Christian Science Quarterly as well as other Science reading. However, at this curcial point in my life I realized that only Christian Science could solve my problem. I again took up a systematic study of the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, and as I cleared my thought of fear, resentment, and human planning, and sincerely sought spiritual guidance and perception, blessings poured in upon me. I found an excellent position (thought in the midst of depression years) and eventually also a new home and a cherished companionship.

Both my boys were able to graduate from college and equip themselves for useful futures. The most helpful thought in rearing them has been that they belong to God, and therefore are God-protected, God-controlled, and God-directed; that He loves them with a greater love than my human mother love.

We have also had many physical healings. One that has always stood out in my memory occurred when the elder boy was suddenly three years of age and suddenly developed convulsions. These occurred about once or twice a week. I immediately had Christian Science treatment for him, and one day, seeing an attack coming on, I said to the practitioner that there was no doubt the child was improving, but it seemed to me he should be freed permanently and immediately. The practitioner replied that the child was free at that moment, and that the attacks would not return. This was proved true; he never again experienced an attack, and my gratitude knows no bounds.
