Man Is a Spiritual Idea

In Revelation 21:9 we read, "And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife."

In her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes (p. 574), "This ministry of Truth, this message from divine Love, carried John away in spirit." Carried "away in spirit," John must have become conscious of the absolute truth about man. Was not his thought so exalted that he was able to glimpse the spirituality of man and the universe?

Only Mind can find expression through ideas, and Mind's highest idea, the climax of His creation, is man, His perfect image and likeness. Christian Science teaches that man is spiritual individuality, conscious identity, dwelling forever in the bosom of his Father-Mother God.
