The Greater Victory We Must Win

The winning of the World War by the United Nations, and the drawing up of the World Charter to aid in ensuring lasting peace, give cause for men of every clime and race to feel that the almighty forces of good, God, are being increasingly recognized and responded to by the earth's people.

But there must be some greater objective toward which humanity is moving, some goal toward which the forces of right are impelling us. Let men's thought be awakened only a little from the night of material ignorance; let them be shaken somewhat out of the mesmeric sleep of slavery to superstition, custom, and false fears, and forthwith the desire to progress becomes evident.

Christian Science enables its students to answer with certainty the question facing every individual, Whither bound? With the Master they can say, "I know whence I came, and whither I go" (John 8:14). They are learning from his teachings, and their explanation in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, that God, Truth, is Spirit, Mind, and that man is actually of the substance of Spirit, Mind, and is spiritual, not material. He is, in Science, an individual idea, or witness, of the infinite intelligence that is Deity.
