Having recently experienced a very marvelous proof of God's protection, I feel that I can delay no longer in expressing my gratitude for Christian Science.

Early one morning a short time ago I took my place in a convoy of half-tracks for a training demonstration. The convoy was making unusual speed because it was several minutes behind schedule, when the vehicle in which I was riding overturned on rounding a sharp curve in the road. The halftrack is open-topped, and those of us seated in the back end were all thrown out by the force of its fall into the sideward path of the nine-and-a-half-ton vehicle. I had a moment's realization of the truth; then I was knocked unconscious by the force with which I hit the ground. When I regained consciousness I learned that I was the only soldier that had been thrown clear of the half-track, which had rolled over for three fourths of a complete turn before reversing its motion.

Two men who were riding with me in the rear were injured, and the three of us were rushed to the station hospital. There I was told that I had sustained a broken collarbone and a light concussion of the brain. A Christian Science friend, hearing of the accident, visited me later in the day and telephoned to a Christian Science Wartime Minister for help at my request.
