Over four years ago I became afflicted with a strange malady— one of rare occurrence and baffling to the medical profession. It resulted from a state of nervous exhaustion, brought on by a train of unhappy events. My venture in matrimony proved unfortunate, and a condition of incompatibility developed which ended in the divorce courts. For a long time I had been unable to find satisfactory employment, one of the immediate results being that I was handicapped in furthering my education. Then, on top of all this, I was plagued by haunting fears.

Unsightly splotches began to appear on my face and skilled medical men were consulted. After X-ray tests they diagnosed the disease as vitiligo. It quickly spread and became so intensified that I had to resort to theatrical make-up to escape or minimize my embarrassment. The physicians were frank to say the medical fraternity knew no remedy. Confronted with such a verdict, there appeared to be no alternative but to let the disease take its course.

I had heard of remarkable cures being effected through Christian Science, and I called on a practitioner for help. Almost from the very first I received benefits. Although the principal claim persisted, minor inharmonies yielded quickly, and these lesser healings gave me courage and fortitude. Gradually my fears began to subside, and, as I know now, that was the beginning of my healing.
