I have long wished to express through the periodicals my deep gratitude to God for all that I have learned of His nature and of my relationship to Him through the teachings of Christian Science.

I had been reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for only a short time when I realized that very severe and frequent headaches from which I had suffered since childhood had completely disappeared; pain in my feet, which made it difficult to walk, and constant sore throats had also vanished. I had read some of the testimonies at the end of the book, which are from people who have been healed through reading it, and I concluded that I also had been healed in the same way. This was a great encouragement to continue reading, and when later I started to attend the services of a Christian Science Society, I derived so much comfort and enlightenment from them that I have never looked back or doubted that Christian Science is the truth that Christ Jesus said would make us free.

I should also like to relate what was to me an outstanding healing of arthritis in the knees, which were very stiff and painful. Help from an experienced practitioner was asked for and given, but I did not receive my healing. When I spoke of this problem to the practitioner it was revealed that I needed to work for myself. Then one day while I was studying the Lesson-Sermon I discovered that for some time error had been suggesting that I was making no progress and that my understanding was very limited. When this error was uncovered and scientifically dealt with, the belief of limited progress manifested in stiff knees vanished almost immediately.
